His novel Everyone’s a Fool in His Own Way, which has since been published in German translation by Transit Verlag, won the Father Zef Pllumi Award, which was established in memory of Franciscan monk Zef Pllumi, who spent 26 years in communist prison before emerging as a profound memoirist. The literary prize named after Pllumi, who passed away in 2007, was established in 2010 and is awarded primarily to works of documentary literature. Çapaliku is the first person to have won the recognition of the judges with a fictional novel.
